Spark the Fire Grantwriting Classes recommends this training event from Washington Nonprofits.

Do you ever feel like your fundraising appeals are broken or falling short of their goal? Do you know how to honor your donors heart for giving while asking boldly and clearly for what you need? Now you can learn how to write, design, and deliver great fundraising appeals that raise more money while honoring donors who want to give you a gift to make the world a better place. The fundraising fundamentals you will learn during this session can be applied to direct mail, special events, and major donor gift acquisition.

Your thank you notes, phone calls and receipt packages are the "thank" in the Ask, Thank, Report, Repeat system. Thanking your donors promptly and emotionally is something you need to do if you want to keep your donors around longer and if you want to grow your organization. It is vitally important to your overall fundraising that your donors feel your gratitude.

During this session, you will learn how to assess your current thanking system and how to improve it to maximize fundraising revenue while increasing donor happiness.

"Reporting" is the part of the Ask, Thank, Report, Repeat fundraising rhythm when you show your donor the difference her gift made. During our time together, you will learn how to report using newsletters, phone, and handwritten notes. You will also learn the difference between reporting to your general donors and your major donors. You can start using these reporting ideas and concepts immediately so that you can keep your donors giving longer and raise more money for your organization!
