Health and Wellness
Being a grantwriter requires focus, the ability to work with deadlines, and the ability to rally support from others. All of this can be stressful. In order to avoid burnout, take care of yourself. Pamper yourself. Take a walk to get fresh air and do some yoga to stretch out the tightness from sitting for long periods. Here are some of my favorite things that help keep stress, fatigue, and burnout at bay.
Book: The Unexpected Joy of the Ordinary
Rekindle your love for every day life with The NY Times Bestseller by Catherine Gray.
Take a break from reading research and enjoy a book that helps you remember to live in the moment. Through gratitude and awareness, you can notice the beautiful little things in life.
Yoga Tools
Yoga is much more enjoyable with some good yoga tools to reduce strain and help you find the body positions that work for you. Plus, Gaiam donates products to nonprofit organizations, so there’s that!
pillow Massager
This pillow back massage has heat and shiatsu for deep tissue relief. Great for the lower back as well as a tight upper back. I use this almost every day and I’m not sure I could live without it! You can even use it while you are writing grants!
Orthopedic Pillow
I came across this pillow on a vacation stay and fell in love with it. I had no idea how much more comfortable an orthopedic pillow is than a standard pillow. Great for sleeping on your back, side, or stomach. You’ll get a much better night’s rest and get relief for any stiffness in your neck from writing at your computer.
Silk Pillowcase
Now that you have the perfect pillow, add the perfect pillow case. Silk pillowcases are better for your skin and hair. And it feel luxurious.
